Hi Folks. Does the 2 K memory eliminate the availability of MPL and / or Channel names in Saber II,s?

I believe so...been a looooong time tho.

I seem to recall u didnt get 128 channels either

I saw that article, but it doesn't cover the can's and can nots with a 2 meg. radio

Too bad is is such a job to retrofit them withteh 8 meg setup.

If memory serves, your options are 4 zones of 12 channels with names and no scan, or 3 zones or 12 channels with no names and two user-selectable scan lists.

2K, yes, darn decimal points.

I've only found mode select scan available on this portable. That 2K sure cripples these radios.

no DTMF either.

I think the 2K memory Sabers you can put in channel text but you can't get both channel text and scan at the same time?You can't use both at the same time.One option at a time.
