Maxtrac programming issue

I wasnt sure how to describe this except for what happened and what is going on currently.

I have had one of the little cables like 10 bux off ebay. I have a VHF GM300 and a UHF Maxtrac. I hooked the cable up (it is one of the full crossband cables instead of just one way repeater). I hooked them to both radios and entered into the RSS and tried got pin 8 to CSQ like it said and tried it and didnt repeat. SO I went in and put the GM-300 to repeater mode and tried it and still didnt work. It wanted to program both radios though and I think maybe this is the problem since they both are not GM-300's. I ended up putting everything back to the basic setting and default setting in both radios for the accessory pins, and now I am having an issue with the Maxtrac. The Maxtrac will not power on unless this RICK wannabe cable thing is hooked up, if I unplug it from the back or from the GM300 the radio turns off. I tried to put the regular accessory plug in the back in and still nothing. So Im not real sure what happen. Anyone?

Thanks.
John

The Maxtrac has a blown fuse.

At first I thought it was a fuse but it does power up as long as that wannabe RICK cable is plugged in to the GM300 even if the GM300 is turned off. I have to have that cable hooked up in order to power it on and I can read and write to it just fine

You mickey mouse cable is providing the power thru the ignition input on the radio.

The fuse is blown in the radio.

Do not try to transmit or you could wind up with a burned circuit trace in your radio.
Each radio MUST have it's own power directly to the 2 pin power plug.

Disconnect the common point in the mickey m0use cable where the IGN pins tie together.

We have been there, done that, and did not get the T shirt, way too many times.
