800MHz Trunking Spectra

I have spectra software but it won’t read an 800MHz Trunking spectra.

Radio Model Number: D45KGA5JE7AK
Software tried: Spectra RVN4001M Ver. 5.03.00 "Your radio is not supported by this service software release"

Does anyone know if there is special software for the 800MHz trunking versions?

At first I was getting a codeplug checksum error 'ER01/02’ and none of the talkgroups worked. The error went away after I attempted reading the radio with astro software. Now just two of the talkgroups no longer work. The radio operates fine on the other talkgroups and has been working on all of the talkgroups for the last 19 years. I suspect the codeplug has become corrupted and reprogramming will fix the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Andy

The latest RSS version is 6.00.05, I believe. No special version for the trunking radios.

The Spectra RSS MUST run in real DOS, not a DOS window.

You probably have electrolytic capacitors going bad in your Spectra too.

Ah, you have an E-series radio. Only the last version of Spectra RSS (6.00.05 as previously stated) will work with them. TEMPRSS Lab RSS will also read/write to them but will bomb with a memory error if you try to create a full codeplug with multiple personalities/systems/zones/etc.

Be advised before you spend much time trying to program this radio, it will not do splinter frequencies in the trunking mode. It will get there in the conventional mode. It will only do type II trunking in analog mode, not digital.

It will also not work on rebanded systems.
