Help with MTS2000 Reads but does not write

I have an MTS2000 Flashcode 000001-000000-9, I'm programming it with CPS R02.03.00. The radio reads just fine but when I go and write, it appears to be writing but when it restarts the old codeplug is still their and not the new one. Any ideas?

Yep, firmware is too old for CPS. IIRC MTS2000 firmware has to be higher than 5.44 to work with CPS. 5.12 dates to 1993.

Darn, I guess I will have to try and purchase a newer firmware. Thank you for your help.

Dan.

Does anyone know where I can go or send my radio to purchase a firmware upgrade? It's my understanding that Motorola is no longer sending out firmware for the MTS series.

Make sure your radio was made after June of 1993 and has a 512K controller, otherwise a firmware upgrade won't work, the earlier MTS2000 radios only shipped with 256K controllers and weren't flash upgradable.

Yes, the radio is 512K and was made after 1993. Just verified.
