VHF Base antenna wide bandwith

Post by emtprt »

I am in the process of replacing 4 antennas at our town's EOC. Currently there are 5 Diamond model X50A antennas for use with UHF and VHF mobile radios used as control stations.
The specs for the present antennas look to be geared for 144 and 440 bands. The public safety frequencies that I need to cover are 151.5000 to 159.12000. I have searched numerous sources for VHF omni-direcional antennas and the bandwith is 3 to 4 mHz with the center frequency 154.000 or 156.000.

Does anyone have a suggestion for an omni-directional VHF antenna with 3db gain to replace my worn/malfunctioning antennas. Dipole style antennas are not an option due mounting space and options.

I am also looking for 2 omni-directional antennas for my 451-465 MHz needs. 3 dB gain is fine for this application.

Thanks
Mark

Comtelco Dualband VHF/UHF BSDB31U

Comtelco VHF 3db BS150Xl3B covers 150 to 156

You can specify the frequency ranges for the VHF and UHF. They WORK!
We replaced all of the Comet/Diamond antennas on the ARES Hospitals DualBand amateur radios with the BSDB31U antennas and have excellent coverage, even tho they are unity gain.

Need a price break, let know.

Look at Procom. They are great and some of them have dual resonance (for repeater split). As I know, they are opened rep. in USA.

Comtelco was able to provide the antennas I needed. They will cut to order and are great to deal with.

Meaning no disrespect to other antenna manufacturers, I have found that Comtelco:

1. Takes phone order directly from users.
2. Takes credit cards and provides substantial discounts for payment in advance.
3. Cuts/manufactures antennas to specified/asked for frequency ranges.
4. Ships within a few days of when the order is placed.
5. Provides a commercial-grade, high quality product.
6. Has a tremendously wide variety of products available.

Just my $0.02.
