IDEN_up_VU Explicit programing in an Astro25 subscriber??

what is the difference in programing a Astro25 subscriber operating on a P25 VHF TRS for Explicit vs. Implicit operation? Specifically regarding the Astro25 Channel ID page; is it just left unmodified for explicit operation or is the system channel plan still required to be entered correctly? When the radio sees Explicit IDEN_UP_VU messages on the CC does it just ignore any data that is in the channel plan in its code plug or will any erroneous data entered in the channel ID tab cause the radio to land on incorrect voice channels?
