Windows 7 - Mototrbo

I'm using a new Panasonic CF-53 with Windows 7 32-bit OS. I have had no problems with any RSS, including older stuff like the 1225s, but I cannot get Mototrbo to work reliably. It works okay with mobiles sometimes but I have to constantly uninstall the network adapter for the Mototrbo radio to get it to work. It's not the cable as I've tried it with other machines and it works fine. It's not the software. I am using 7.5 (I know there is a 7.6 but trust me that's not my issue as these are older radios). I've disabled the firewall. I've disabled anti-virus. It will occasionally work for a radio or two but usually will not work at all with portables. Mobiles I can usually get it to work by unplugging and then plugging the USB cable back in.
Can anyone suggest anything? I do A LOT of Mototrbo programming and it is a pain in the butt to have to carry around two laptops after we just spent $1.5K on this one.

I have encountered those same problems, the most latest TRBO firmware is supposed to correct the issues related to Win7. My problem was that Win7 did not reliably create the radio network. It would be pretty tough to reflash your old TRBO radios if you can't reliably connect to them with your PC.
A solution could be to load Windows 7 XP Mode which is a virtual PC, this seemed to work for me but it was a nuisance. My solution is to get my laptop loaded with WinXP and continue to use XP for as long as I can get away with it. If Motorola starts writing software that only works on Win7 then I will setup my newest machines to be dual boot.

Thanks. I have tried WinXP mode and still have issues. I should have mentioned that before.

I first found the new Motorola CPS programs for the TRBO and APX radios to be virtually impossible to use on my Dell D600 laptop which was running XP. Sure, they would work, after a fashion, but the processing delays were intolerable. I finally got a new Dell i3 Inspiron laptop that runs Windows 7 and handles both software versions with seeming ease. I've also discovered with the TRBO that it pays to be using the very latest firmware and CPS versions available. I'm also wondering now if running 64 bit instead of 32 would make things work even better. Even with all the new stuff going for me, I still don't feel as if I'm in control of my programming activity any more, and I miss the "old days" of RSS/DOS where life was so much more simple, but I guess that's what is called "progress."

There was an SRN detailing the issues with Win7 & TRBO firmware. It seems something became 'broken' sometime after firmware version 1.6.xx. Of course, it took Motorola forever to admit there was even an issue. It was much worse in Win7, but it did also affect XP & Vista to smaller degrees. You need 1.8.32 or greater in field units to fix the issues.
All that said, I can't stand the networking delays in Win7 as compared to XP on a good day.
