Configure MSR-2000 for Carrier Squelch

Post by mwbesemer »

Greetings all,

I'm new to MSR-2000s, but not new to building repeaters.

I have an MSR-2000 (C73KSB-3106BT) that I am trying to configure for Carrier Squelch using various jumpers on the Backplane (fully optionable), Squelch Gate and R1 Audio card, but regardless of having any combination of the jumpers installed/not installed, I can't get the system to respond in CS.

In some configurations, I lose the ability to quiet the receiver, in others the TX stays up all the time, in others the TX does not respond. Obviously I've managed to miss the correct combination of jumpers... so it's time to call in the big guns.

I have the following cards/modules installed:

PA TLD2602A
Receiver TRD6302APR
Exciter TLD9242APR
Station Control TRN5321APR
Time Out Timer TRN5295APR
Squelch Gate TRN5324APR
Multi PL Decoder TRN5329A3798Z
Multi PL Encoder TRN5292A3498U
PL TRN5073APR
R1 TRN9689

I've tried JU9 on the backplane is in, JU9 on the Station Control card is out, JU4, JU14, and JU15 on the Squelch Gate card are out, and JU102, JU103,JU104, and JU105 on the R1 are out. In this configuration, the transmitter remains keyed all the time. It worked fine in PL, as originally configured.

What did I miss?

The jumpers on the RX PL board need to be changed.

I have that in my service manual notes if you need it.
