On the m1225, I cannot find where to make the on hook constant. I looked in radio wide and cannot find a setting. I want when the Mic is off the hook, not to disable the pl.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

There isn't an option in the RSS to do it IIRC. Solder a jumper across the pins on the mic jack, or use a RJ45 with pins 5 and 6 jumpered plugged into the mic jack for a receive-only radio.

If you can open the mike, solder the blue wire that goes to the hang up clip on the back of the mike to the circuit board ground. GARY N4KVE

open the mic itself up and solder a permanent ground to the hang up wire

Nothing in RSS lists mic off hook, only options are Opt. button settings, as well as accy. pin settings for remote and general I/O.
Pin jumpering is what is required.
Even the selections on Opt. button A is limited...local/distant, phone reportoire, hi/low power, talkaround, null/option board button.
Button B is pretty much the same.

For years I just put a mic clip on it and set it in my cup holder... there is no need to ground the mic clip like some other models.

If you have the knowmic jackledge to open the radio up, you can solder a jumper accross pin three and ground on the main board at the mic jack. if you need a diagram i can send one. I have done this a few times and it works great.
