Batboard

I have a VHF VRS that I would like to swap in a UHF radio for. I pull the VHF out, remove the special interface and put it in place of the PL board in the uhf radio. Is that all there is to it or is there any radio jumpering involved? I put the PL board in the old VHF radio and its stuck in transmit. I think there is a jumper added and or removed when you add/remove PL board from an EXPO radio. No expo manual here so I am flying blind.
