Gai-tronics ICP9012A 12ch console, issue w/radio patch

Anyone have an idea of issue were running I to?
Have a 12 channel Gaitronics (newer current production model, not older Moto) console, with various control station radios (CDMs, Astro Spectras, etc) connected and all line level set to -5db with two wire control. No leased lines all local, and two of these consoles in parallel. When patching say a VHF and UHF using the radio patch feature on either console, all works well until.... The console senses audio on another channel (unselected) and not selected in patch setup while someone is keyed in the patch, when this occurs the transmit side of the patch locks up. It can be a key beep, a pop from powering a radio on, or receive audio to one of the other 10 unselected channels, when it senses the audio and again, the patch is in progress and keyed, it locks up the tx side until the patch is turned de selected or you hut the tx button on the tx channel which unlocks it from tx.
Anyone have any ideas?
Makes Zero sense to me why audio coming down the pair of an unselected channel would have any affect on the patch of two selected channels...
If no audio emanates from the other radios or they are turned off, no problem at all, works as it should.
Thanks in advance...
