Batboard

I have several pagers minitor iii, iv, that have a feed back sound when there is a carrier. What is causing this and what do I need to look for to fix this issue. Yes I could just send them in to be fixed but I like to learn how to fix things and better my trouble shooting skills. Thanks in advance. Brian
