MCS2000 scan

I'm trying to set my MCS up to suspend scan when the mic is off the hook. I've went into scan configuration and checked the box that says "HUB suspends scan", but still am not achieving my goal. I'm sure it's something simple I'm missing, but I'm done banging my head against the wall. Any ideas?

I'm reaching here, but are you using a microphone that has a isolated hang-up button as would be required for that feature? See if unplugging the mic has any effect.

Unplugging the mic doesn't do it either. The hub feature works correctly for going into csq when off hook, or staying with pl if set that way. I assumed hub suspends scan feature would work the same way, maybe I'm wrong.

are you using the correct clip, is your mic the one that uses the magnet inside it for hangup? You may have the radio programmed correctly but if you don't have the magnetic clip it won't hangup

I'm pretty sure this is the model# for my mic HMN4069E. I do not have a magnetic clip, just the standard Moto one. The mic has the four spring type tabs on the back of the mic, like a maxtrac mic would. I would assume if it was a magnetic mic, the way I have it set, it would not scan at all because it thinks it's off hook, but it does scan, just won't stop if I unhook the mic. Also, the pl/csq feature works as it should depending on if the mic is hooked/unhooked, which leads me to believe that this isn't a magnetic mic issue.

Well, I found my problem. The previous owner went inside the mic and soldered a jumper, making the radio think the mic was always on hook. I removed the jumper and all is well, works like a champ.
