I have a Motorola MCS2000 800 mhz radio that I can read the codeplug, make changes but I cannot save or upload to the radio. I am using CPS 02.03. I noticed that the Codeplug is sifferent when importing the codeplug to the Tuner. CPS shoes the codeplug as 10 but the Tuner shows 16.
The error I get when saving the codeplug is
Runtime Error!
Program: ...s\Motorola\MCS MTS 2000 Produccts\MCS2000 CPS\MCS2000.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
Next screen:
The instruction at "0x011ba043" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program.
Any help? Could there be a memory chip missing? I can program a 900 mhz MCS2000 ok so I don't expect the software to be the problem. Anyone have a good 800 mhz codeplug that I can try?
Thanks;
David

Has this radio been hacked at all? If so maybe something was done incorrectly. I may be able to help you with an s-record. What is the model number and flashcode of the radio?

As far as I know this radio have not been hacked, at least by me. Bought off EBay mainly for the front mount control hear, cable and front plate for the radio.
Thought at least to see if the 800 radio will work as our local system is still analog for the next few years.
Model number is M01UGL6PW4BN.
Codeplug 0010
Firmware 07.71
System Plug H37
Flash Code 000004-000000-6
I use the latest CPS 02.03 to program the radio
Thanks for your reply.

runtime error is a windows problem. windows has probablly updated runtime to a newer version than the cps can use or another cps has installed a newer version. if possible try a different older machine and only install the cps for the mcs on it

I have loaded the software on two different computers, one a desktop and the other a laptop. Both running XP. I get the same error on both PCs. I have an MCS2000 on 900mhz and when I modified the MCS2000 exec file on one of the computers I am able to program the 900 ham frequencies and save the code plug. Not sure what else I can try. I was looking for an 800 codeplug that I could try and load to this radio and see if that would fix the problem.
Thanks;
David

Wish I had a PC on 98 but all my PCs are on wither XP home, XP pro or WIN7. I am removing the older 2.02 version and installing the 2.03. Hope that helps. If not I have a spare hard drive that I could load 98 onto and see if that works.
thanks;

I installed 98 on another older PC I had but the CPS R02.01.00 loaded but would not read the codeplug. Would just hangup. Someone said that maybe the radio was programmed with the DOS version. I cannot find and DOS version for the MCS2000.
