Has anyone heard of putting 3 control heads on a PM1500? One of our local ambulance services says not only is it possible, but he has seen it done.

Considering the CPS only allows 2 and the CHIDs only go up to 2, I'd be curious how they didn't get a CHID error on the third. Maybe your local ambulance service will show it to you

They don't have it. Their "Radio Guy" is the one who says he has seen it, and it can be done.

Maybe they have two radios installed. Unless there is an aftermarket module you can buy to allow 3 heads. I remember about 2 years ago I was working for a local shop and one of the fire dept's wanted a dual head configuration on their tower ladder using a CDM1550, we used some kind of box I forget who made it or what it was exactly called but you plugged the radio into it and it had to ports for the control heads.

Maybe he has an FPP low band Astro Spectra in his Dauphin as well.

Maybe he saw at XTS2500 and thought it was a PM1500? I ran into a rig that needed 3 CH and they had to go with XTS5000 to get 2 CH package.

Does that mean you can put 3 control heads on an XTL5000? You can put 2 heads on an PM1500.

You can have up to 4 control heads on an XTL2500/5000.

I have personally seen 3 control heads on a XTL2500, the control head cables were daisy chained together. You have to put the control head in progamming mode i believe and asign it a number of what control head it is in the system.
