SUBJECT: MOTOTRBO™ Portables and Mobiles – Multiple issues may occur after upgrading to R01.09.00 firmware

MODEL / SYSTEM AFFECTED: All models and bands of MOTOTRBO™ Portable and Mobiles with R01.09.00

NOTE: Only radios updated from R01.05.xx and R01.06.xx to R01.09.00 will exhibit the below symptoms. All other releases are not affected.

SYMPTOM:
1) Radio may become inoperative after sending or receiving a private call or call alert
a. Could occur with either voice and text message calls
b. Radio will be locked up…radio will not transmit or received and will not respond to any button presses.

2) Missed calls are not recorded in the missed calls list.

CAUSE: Defect in upgrade packages.
RESOLUTION: Upgrade directly to R01.09.10 or later. The firmware is available for download from Motorola OnLine (MOL) at the following location: Resource Center>Software>Two-Way>MOTOTRBO>Conventional – Firmware folder.

Or

In lieu of updating firmware, the follow solution can also be used to recover a radio exhibiting the above symptoms:
Read and save the radio codeplug
Recover the radio (Device / Recover)
Write the saved codeplug back into the radio

SEVERITY RECOMMENDATION: Low – Perform at next scheduled firmware upgrade or if experiencing the above symptoms.

First time seeing that - thanks for posting.
Luckily I skipped 09 but now loading 09.1
Glad I did, I had some 1.06 units out there...

I'm actually using a few radios on 1.09.00 now, but they started life as 1.08.xx, so no problems so far. GARY
