Does anyone know if there is an electrical difference between a Spectra (HLN-6226 or 29) high power interconnect board and an Astro (HLN-6574) high power interconnect board? Or, can they substitute for each other, or in the alternative, be modified without to much trouble?

I apologize for not being more specific, these boards are for A3 and W3 respectively.

On the high power interconnect boards there are lots of little 0 ohm resistors, jumpers, that determine the control head used.

I have a high power SPECTRA A9 that I want to convert to an A3. I have access to an ASTRO W3 interconnect board and, was trying to find out if the W3 board would work in a regular Spectra or, if I would be able to modify the W3 board. I was looking to see if anyone had already tried this without smoking something.

Yes, the W3 Astro interconnects are specific to the W3 handheld control head. Yes, you will smoke things if you try plugging a non-W3 head into a W3 interconnect-equipped radio.
The interconnect from an A4/5/7/9 analog Spectra can be interchanged with the interconnect from a W4/5/7/9 Astro radio, with the caveat that an analog Spectra board won't support keyloading or flashing when used in an Astro radio.

I'm trying to determine if a W3(high power) board can be used as an A3 (high power) board on a regular Spectra or not.
