MTS2000, Narrowbanding issue

Post by talviar »

I have an MTS2000 High band half keypad portable
(Model # H01KDF9PW1BN, Flash 200008-000400-4, Firmware 5.44)

Great radio, I know there are others newer/better for narrowband, but radio works great and handles everything I have thrown at it so far. . . .

Need to add the following freq pair into the radio
159.3675 RX/ 154.1975 TX

Software is ok with this frequency but I receive an error box that says "The Target Radio does not support frequencies with a 2.5 khz spacing. Please upgrade this radio's firmware."

Upgrading firmware only thing I need to do, or will I run into an issue with hardware as well?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be good. Hate to retire this radio for the mere fact of 1 channel out of 150 I keep in it can't be used.

Thanks!
Tony

edited a few minutes after posting-half keypad radio not full keypad-oops!

All you'll need is a firmware upgrade.

Good luck, Motorola is no longer supporting the MTS2000 so they may come back and say the kit is NLA.

This was the case when I tried to order a firmware upgrade for a XTS3000 recently. No longer supported. No firmware/flash upgrades available.
