First date of MFG.

I need to know when the first Mitrek was made. I also need to know when the System 90 siren became available. I have a copy of the silver book. It says first printing 1978 second printing 1980. It mentions Mitreks and the siren cards. I found this book in the dumpster when I worked at the Waltham COSC KL 754. I do remember retrofitting BAPERN Micors with the siren option in 1981. I am restoring a 1977 1978 vintage Dodge Monaco police cruiser and I want to do it correctly. Thanks.

My '78 Dodge Monaco had a CHP Motran in it with the special control head, as well as a Federal siren, so, no help here.

Have fun with your project. Those big block MOPARS really go, too!!

It was a CHP car 9927. Not restoring as such. I have a lot of Mitrek sys 90 stuff and some micor stuff to. I need to make it right the people in hobby rip you otherwise.

A Micor would be in vintage, a lot of CHP cars used the long dual receive Micors. There is a guy in Monterey, CA, that hangs out on here that might have more info.

The 1972 parts book shows both Micor and SYS90.
I know we used SYS90 on all our Micors for UHF, had some on VHF Micors, Hi and Low band. And I even think they were used on a couple VHF Motrac HHT's.
When I started we still had 1972 cars and lots of older radios. ( T-Powers, RCA-500, GE-Progs. ) until they all got replaced with Micor.
I don't recall seeing a Mitrek until 1980 used by another agency.
Depending on who had the car you are building out, should be easy to find the proper setup.

When I started with my radio tech career in 78 there were still T Powers Progs and even some Canadian marconis. I remember some cab company had some radios with dynamotor powere supplys in the rear of the cab. Dumont ? Any how the car will have a a symtor X in the trunk but I have all new white system 90 modules buttons escutchons etc. for up front. I did retrofit the siren cards in the micors into 1978 cruisers way back so I'm good with it.

I restored a 76 Fury. Put in A 4 channel GE Master Pro with scan head and Federal PA20 Interceptor siren. I remember these as "period" equipment. My first car was a 78 Monaco it had a MT500 Converta-com and Siracom siren. They pulled the Converta-com and put in a Micor. We didnt get the systems 90 sirens until they put them in Diplomats in 82
Some pics of the car set ups I built for our museum

A group here is So Cal, Los Angeles, has several long low band Micors. Probably for the asking.

The setups look cool. I remember that stuff. This is going to be a working radio on 30.80 Mhz. Pictures will be on Copcardot com when done.

My buddy and customer had a new Mitrek with a Systems 90 control head in the very late 70's. His whole fleet had UHF Mitreks.
