Hello All,
I would have thought this would be the easiest question to get answered using a Google search, but to no avail.
Dear Discussion Board. What kind of converter do I need to buy, to connect my Motorola Spectra to a PL-259 mobile antenna?
Thanks in advance,
Bill

Get it, or them, here:
http://www.therfc.com/
He knows his stuff, takes phone orders and credit cards, and can sometimes give you
the option of a foreign-made adapter (chancy) or US-made adapter (usually a better fit)
for a little bit more $.

These have high VSWR at UHF frequencies. Not a good choice.
They also put a strain on the radio's connector causing it to fail.

They also fall apart. Adapters are meant for temporary use.

I've had this guy make me custom antenna cables so no adapters were necessary. Top quality. GARY

Am I missing something here? Seems obvious to me; buy a crimp-on miniU connector for your existing cable and install it OR buy a Motorola (or other) NMO base with the miniU connector installed and, preferably, the white high frequency antenna cable. What's your time worth? Easier and not very expensive. If you have to reinstall the antenna base, use the existing cable as a "fish". Done! Works right! and doesn't take long. Or,,,have I misread?

EXACTLY..
And get the good Mini U connectors with the separate brass or gold plated center pin while you are at it..
