Low Band wireless link

Just curious,has anyone ever tried a low band,30-40 MHZ,wireless link for use in voter systems to link the TAC RX back to the Voter.I know that ther is UHF and Microwave, just curious.

The reason almost nobody uses lowband for linking voters/sites is for the long path issues with control points.
Even if toned or DPL'd, the possibility exists for a distant point might interfere with your voted system if and when band conditions permit.
I doubt you would be happy getting called at 3 AM about someone interfering with your system, only to find out propagation has opened a path from the distant station to your voted sysem and is wreaking havoc with the voting.
Short path, moderate loss links are highly preferable to long distance capable link receivers. Far less trouble as well.

Not to mention that the added environmental/atmospheric noise might add to an already clean signal and present a differently noisy signal to the voter.
