Flash "downgraded"?

Forgive my ignorance flashport usage...I only program my radios and never tried to flash upgrade them.
I have an Astro Saber II which seems to have been flash "downgraded?"
The radio tag shows: 140001-000000-3
But "Astro Saber & XTS 3000" CPS (version R05.03.00) shows: 000008-000000-2
Can that be right? Or is this a problem with CPS reading a radio with an old DSP?
Service mode on the radio shows:
AP: R03.20.01
DSP: I05.00.18 (first letter capital I - Irving)
(it doesn't show a flashcode version like the XTS 3000 does)

I don't know how I missed that... but you're right! The S/N's don't match. It seems at some point the case may have been swapped out.
Since I'm using this unit for my consumption as a "beater radio", I guess I don't seem to mind. Besides, the case that's on it is like brand new.
So the odd question is.... Why would CPS show me the "Astro Systems" configuration container (and seemingly let me configure it as such...on both the "Astro Systems" and the "tab" on the Conventional Personality settings when the FlashCode only decodes to the following:
Decoding Flashcode: 000008-000000-2
Platform: Astro Saber
H38: SmartZone Systems Operation
If the FlashCode doesn't support Astro IMBE Digital Operation, wouldn't those settings in CPS be disabled or not present in the codeplug config?

VSELP is not compatible with modern Astro systems.
These are older, 512K and 3600 BPS, so they will NOT work on any P-25 system.
You will need at least an Astro Saber or XTS3000 with a 1 Meg vocon and be capable of 9600 bps, not to mention flashed to support IMBE digital operation.
IMBE: Improved MultiBand Excitation
VSELP: Vector Sum Excitation Linear Predictor (older digital format no longer used)

Yep, that's old VSELP-era HOST and DSP firmware. Is it an 800 MHz radio?

No, UHF-Lo (403-470MHz)
Maybe if I get bored with it, I'll have it flash upgraded...heck, the tags already don't match, so nothing to lose there. For now, I've only had the need for conventional analog only.

I have a bunch of UHF 403-470 AS1's, & 2 of them are Vselp. While I could upgrade them to IMBE, I don't, as they talk to each other just fine. Great for shopping center coms with GF. GARY
