XTS3000 - analog squelch adjust - Tuner or CPS??

On other Motorola radios I usually use the Tuner software (CPS) or Service Mode (RSS) to lower the squelch threshold so that the squelch opens on really weak signals.
Does the XTS3000 just use the CPS to adjust the squelch threshold..so called "Squelch Fine Tune" OR can you use the Tuner software to set the "Overall" squelch level and just use the CPS "Fine Tune" to alter the squelch level on individual frequencies in case of high levels of QRM etc?
In the XTS3000 Help Pages it says that the "Master Squelch Value" is an internal radio setting that is hard coded ie NOT modifiable. This suggests that the CPS "Fine Tune" setting is the ONLY adjustment point and that you do NOT use the Tuner software to adjust the squelch level?
Any ideas?
