Problems with different versions of the codeplug

Is it necessary that the codeplug (CPG) have the same version in order to be able to load it into the radio (GP380)?
I try to load the default codeplug "p_uhf1_N6" (version 7) in my radio that already contains a codeplug with version 4.x and then get an error message that it is not possible. Is this normal and can I bypass this problem in any smart way?

Note that it is not the software (CPS) is the problem, but it is codeplug (CPG)!

Generally speaking, a programming attempt will fail if you try to load an older version of the CPS into the radio. There are almost one hundred Google posts regarding the CPS version you mentioned in your post.

Yes I have noticed that and Goggled BUT it is not the software (CPS) that is the problem it is the version of the codeplug (CPG)!

A better formulation of the question:
Is it necessary to codeplug (CPG) is of the same version as the existing one in the radio when you load it into a Moto GP3XX and how do you get around this problem?

I've seen the problem you describe with the much older GP300. Radios could not be cloned unless they were of the same codeplug ver. I recall seeing a workaround posted here on BatLabs.
