Greetings,
I have a problem where I accidentally flash in the wrong Control Head version for O5 into my XTL1500 aka MantaX. As a result, my XTL1500 is not power up, unable to enter Bootload state. Even when i attached the Bootload cable, my xtl1500 still not able to enter Bootload state. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

A simple question to check all the power cables going to the radio. The heavy power cable for the PA must be connected and have power at the radio. Depending on which control head mounting you have, both the yellow and red wire from the power cable at the head need to have power.
If all the above are good, your probably are looking at a trip back to the depot.

He will have one hell of a time looking for those red and yellow wires from the control head. Have you ever seen a remote mount XTL1500?

Hi all,
Thanks for your reply.
First, my XTL1500 is dash mount. And all power input is OK. Just when I power up my radio, I see nothing on the display, and after about 5 to 10 seconds, the control head produce a bad bonk once. And that's it. I can no longer enter the Bootload mode.

Odd, there was one on the "auction site" with the same symptoms. I am sure it is fixable, most likely nothing that you yourself can do though. Depot or someone who has special powers are probably your only options.

The only way that would happen is to force a codeplug file for the control head in without an iButton. The bootloader assumes that the CPS has already done the error checking via the iButton routine.
