We have a XPR8300 single site that we put the dynamic mixed mode EID in today and programmed a mixed mode channel. In analog the repeater works fine however when you key the repeater in digital the repeater will key 1 time and then become unresponsive.
The only way to restore operation is to either rewrite the codeplug or power cycle the unit. We also upgraded the firmware from 1.07 to 1.09.11 in hopes it would fix this issue, however this had no effect.
I also changed it to digital only and the unit would still lockup. If you hold a subscriber unit key down in digital mode the repeater will unkey and lockup in approx 4 seconds.
I hope someone has ran across this and can shed some light on whats happening.
The repeater serial number is not one of the units that are known to lock up under heavy use.

Re: XPR8300 Locking Up
Moved to Infrastructure as this is a repeater.
Re: XPR8300 Locking Up
That's a bizarre issue. How old is the repeater? I recall the first run of them had flaky hardware which manifested in all kinds of strange issues. We did have a lockup/unresponsive issue with a couple of those, although it was much more intermittent than yours appears to be.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Re: XPR8300 Locking Up
Repeater is approx 1 1/2 yrs old and was used strictly in analog. We never tried digital operations before installing the DMM EID. Motorola tech support advised us to do a recover on the unit and rebuild it from scratch and see what happens which I am going to do once I get a spare repeater online to take its place.
