VRS Question

I've noticed people speaking of VRS-750's being used with only the Astro-Spectra's but here is my question.

I have a VRS, claims to be for UHF, (YLE-1009B) with a P6202 instead of the usual P20xx parts. This could be used on a regular Spectra, correct?

Regards,

The VRS750 is configured within the Astro Spectra CPS for frequency, bandwidth, tones, etc. This is actually configured in the codeplug of the host radio and I believe the data is sent to the VRS each time the radio is turned on.

I'm not familiar with the model of VRS that you have, but keep in mind how the VRS750 works and that should answer your question if there is no provision in the Spectra RSS for this.

the vrs750 frequency is programmed in the regular radio RSS but if you need to change tuning parameters or squelch sensitivity, that is actually programmed with its own software thru a port that is behind the smooth front cover of the vrs750 (where a controlhead would normally be for that chassis)

and yes it gets updated each time you turn on the radio from the radio. i have several of these VRS750s and they are great!

heres a thread i was involved in several years ago that will give you more info on VRS750s
