MT2000 Programming question

I just acquired a MT2000 from where I work since we switched to narrow-band system I have a lot of new toys but whenItried to program it tonight with RSS version 5.8.??? I got all of the simplex channels working fine but none of my repeater channels seem to work. Verified I had it programmed correctly, you know TX in the TX slots and RX in the RX slots etc...

Also noticed that the receive only channels appear to not receiving anything which one of my test channels is the local NWS transmitter (5 miles away at 300 watts) but not peep from it while I can hear it on MT1000 without a antenna!

Since this my first MT2000 I was hoping to get some advice...

you don't have a button or switch set to talkaround do you? If it's on then the repeaters won't work. check the rx only channel and set it to csq and see what happens

Did you enter the proper frequencies ofr the repeaters, with the proper PL/DPL codes?
Are the repeaters USING a PL/DPL on transmit?
For some odd reason,there are systems that do not transmit a PL/DPL code FROM the repeater, forcing you to select CSQ, which is dumb.

If you programmed a tone/code on an NWS frequency, you will NEVER hear the weather, they do NOT transmit ANY tones/codes, save for Long tone Zero(Litz)
activation. But as a rule of thumb, NWS does not transmit a tone, none of the COTS receivers are able to decode them.
If you have a side button programmed as monitor, tune to your NWS channel and press that side button toopen thereceiver, if you hear the NWS broadcast, DEPROGRAM the tone/code from that channel.

One other point to look into, if you are not able to transmit To the repeaters, did you somehow alter the actual offset frequencies somehow?
Just a few Kc off, and you are not ableto access.

UHF is a normal 5 Mhz. offset, Amateur band UHF follows the same plan, but VHF is .6 Mhz. offset. Commercial VHF is far different.
Recheck your information, something was obviously entered improperly.

I suggest this is just programming error, good bet to review your data and see what is wrong, or the repeater data is incorrect perhaps, and this is why you are not accessing or hearing them..

I can't remember what the page says but also make shure your unmute rule is not set to "AND" so it's not looking for qcII tones to unmute
