Hello,

I was given a maratrac with the clam shell head. eight channels a/b selector.
I just wanted to know if this radio can hold more than 16 channels if I was to get an A-7 head for it.
Also to do a scan feature I was told only eight channels can be put in and the a/b selector used as the scan knob.

Any information is greatly appreciated....

Yes, It can easily be converted to a 99 channel . You need the A7 head and control cable. In the software there is a control head change page. The clamshell head you now have can be programmed as a 16 channel without scan (A2) or a 8 channel with scan( A3) , same head with different labels.
