Help Please - MCS2000 and PSU

Hello I have a APN6003A PSU with an odd 6pin socket on the front (12vDC and battery connector for battery backup). I'm having a hell of a time finding a replacement plug/lead for this. Before I permenantly mod the PSU could someone please notify me of the part number for the lead and availability.

Secondly I'm trying to fix up a few accy's for my MCS2000 in-vehicle install. Firstly I'm trying to put a siren kit in for air horn and PA for crowd control events. Could someone please let me know what parts I'd need to get this up and running as my local Moto dealer is not much help for even the XTL5000 in the car.

Third, given I have an XTL5000, could I please have the part numbers needed for a siren kit for this so I can get the kit for whichever radio comes available first.

Fourth, is there any way to soft switch the MCS2000 on and off with the ignition like the XTL5000?

Fifth, since I'm looking at replacing the MCS2000 with an S split XTL5000 once I get the funds and dual bricking with my Q split. What parts would I need to get the dual brick happening with preferably a HHCH controller?

I appreciate any non-BS responses thank you. I've asked the local Moto dealer this but being non gov they aren't interested in doing the leg work and seem to know jack %hit themselves.

if all you need is PA & airhorn, get a dedicated unit. Don't bother trying to interface a DEK or a maratrac siren to it.

hahaha yeah, wire it correctly ! wire pin 15 (IIRC) to switched 12 vdc, provided it's programmed correctly, you're in business.

Thank you for the reply. I was trying to hide the components and use the MCS head buttons + mic for the functions but will keep it in mind. As for pin 15, last I tried that I killed the radio (was some time ago now) but may have accidentally earthed it instead of +12DC. Thankyou for that.

OK checked the pin15 theory yesterday avo and did some more google storming with it. Found the pinout diagram I had was incorrect and that the pin was at the other end. Explains why it blew a radio. All working sweet with the ignition now tyvm.

Now I'd just love the ability to be able to use the MCS mic for my PA and at least get a part number for that power supply.

You did put a small value, 1 amp fuse in the line.....?

This is for the IGN control line to the accy jack......

No it is tapped from the cig lighter socket rear so should be probably around 10amps. Is there a particular reason so suggest a smaller in-line value? Everything is fused somewhere though from my battery, I learnt the hard way back in 96 when I was a teen what happens to my side band when I use screws instead of fuses (bye bye zener).

The reason you should fuse that lead, is if there is an internal issue with your radio, you don't need it or want it to try to pull 10amps thru the ignition sense lead....
