CP185 firmware issue

Post by Chouby »

Hi!

I'm owner of 2 CP185 vhf and I did firmware upgrade yesterday.. The first is alllllll right but the second seem to be dead :( it does not turn on.. when I power it up the lcd does not work and the classic motorola tone on power up does not work too... Is it possible to unbrick it or I give it to my 5 years old boy?

Thanks!

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

the software didn't find any radio.... but I've opened it and I found a Microchip 24lc641.. maybe the firmware is in there so I will try to extract data from my fonctionnal radio and reprogram it in the other..

ok.. Microchip 24LC64 i2c eeprom read. (from the dead radio first to test it out)
Got entire dump and it contains the serial, tapata, model #.. almost everything...
90% of the chip is "blank" Eg: FF FF FF.........
I'm waiting for better chip programmer from ebay and I will try to clone the two 24lc64..

Stay tuned!
