MCC5500 P25 DIU Encryption Issue

Post by carterblumeyer »

Just installed 5500 consoles and running AES encryption thru the DIU. The issue is when the Console TX thru V.24 to the Comparator and out the the Qunatar it seems that voice will come out over the air then in the middle of the tx what appears to happen is the encryption is lost and a "ROBOT" sound comes out. Its not all the time but enough to drive you crazy. I am thinking its a encryption issue as the sound over the air is the same as if you were to listen the the encryption radio traffic with a scanner.

Any ideas?

Yep, check the encryption module is seated properly in the DIU. Sounds like thats where the problem is.

If the encryption was truly "lost", the DIU would be dropping back into the clear mode and the subscriber unit would resync accordingly.

Sounds to me like the EMC or UCM in the DIU3000 is going haywire.

Check the suggestion by MattSR and the DIU battery. I would also check the clocking plan for your system, see: http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.p ... =+clocking reference my post and that of d119, the third to last and second to last posts on that thread.
