MT2000 A4 not working on repeater freqs

Post by cfreytag »

Having a problem and hoping someone can help me.

I just picked up an MT2000 A4 VHF, programmed it up and it's working simplex frequencies with no problems. However, it will not work any repeaters at all.

I've double checked the input/output/PL settings, and they are all good. In fact, they are the same settings as my MT2K A7 VHF, which works repeaters just fine. I programmed a direct/talkaround setting, rewrote the codeplug, and have no problem. I also double checked the mute/unmute rule, which I reset to standard, and still nothing. I also made sure I had nothing programmed as a PL disable.

I used some Google-fu to find the possibilities above, but not finding anything else. Does anyone know of a setting in RSS that I might have missed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Time to bench check the radio with a service monitor. Right now you have no clue to even know if the transmitter is on frequency. How much power is it putting out? Is the PL tone the right tone and of the right deviation? Is the receiver even hearing anything?

Go do some homework to find out just what the radio is doing.
