I finally decided to start cleaning out my garage and in a dark corner i uncovered a VHF Secure Net Suitcase Repeater and Saver Suitcase SVA. I have scoured the internet for the last couple of days trying to figure out a value of these things...but have had no luck. It seems everyone who has them doesn't want to sell them...therefore no prices. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure on what they would be worth today? both are in amazing condition, few scratches on the cases, work flawlessly, and have all their accessories. The SVA has the attached display mic as well. They are defiantly pieces of American and Motorola history. I'm sure someone out there would have a much better use than a space saver in my garage.

Thanks,
Conner

A few years ago I picked up a VHF Saber suitcase SVA for $135. Real nice shape, but I wanted to use it for an Astro Saber, on UHF. Fortunately I had an AVA laying around, & the correct UHF amp, so I swapped the parts, & sold what I removed. It works great, but I don't use it much. Field days, etc. But I can only imagine what the gov't paid for these new. GARY

Honestly, I'd just post it on Ebay with no reserve, a 1-cent starting bid, and no buy-it-now and let market forces dictate the price. You'd be surprised what stuff goes for when people get into bidding wars, and that no-reserve/1 cent starting bid is like a magic catalyst.

Realistically none of it should be worth more than, say, $100 since the repeaters were mostly based on MX handheld radio chassis (i.e. crystal-controlled) and none of it supports narrowband or digital voice beyond analog Securenet. But like I said, people go crazy bidding at auction.
