I bought an HT1250LS and I was trying to add more than the 16 conventional channels it allows me to. The guy it bought it from is a radio programmer and he is telling me there is a way to put in like 228 frequencies into the trunk banks and use them as regular channels. I didn't think it sounded right...and I can't figure it out. Please help...I am a Amateur Radio Operator and have no use for trunking. If anyone wants to trade for a regular 1250 let me know.

You did not include the model # so here are the basics but the key is the EXACT model # .

HT1250 8 zones 128 channels NO TRUNKING !

HT1250LS only 16 channels conventional , LTR trunking only,no mdc

HT1250LS+ 5an model 18 channels conventional ,LTR & PASSPORT trunking ,no mdc

6an model same as above with full keypad

7an model 128 channels ,LTR & PASSPORT, MDC on all channels ,full keypad

IF you have a model that will accomodate the "extra" channels, you program a button for "zone" and add channels that way.

You have to change the codeplug (model) with the codeplug tool from the US Waris Lab Upgradekit.
Save the tuning data,with the tuner software,before you do anything.

Where to find it is not something that can be spoken about here since it was never meant to be released from the M lab. That's about all we can say.

Gotcha OK. I will then seek out a new radio!

If anyone is interested....will come with charger, antenna, dust cover, and I think I got a battery laying around.

i am going to put it up on ebay.
