Looking at to better our portable coverage. I have looked at cross band repeaters but would like to explore the option of using the same band.

We use VHF High band. Does anyone make anything that will work in the same band that is cost effective.
Either full duplex or one way.

One filter connects to radio to antenna

Other filter connects to repeater then to antenna.

Get about 2 1/2 / 3 miles out of ours in the rescue truck - I fixed it after our M dealer screwed it all up.

Plus all the other tuning that the repeater needs to interface w/ the radio.

Pyramid is the only way to go with In-band Repeaters. They work good as long as they are set up right.

any ideas for an in-band lowband 46mhz vehicle repeater? Fire agency has 50 PR860 lowband portables on an average structure fire/ mva call and needs to improve on scene portable coverage.I have only done crossband invehicle repeaters for vhf to lb.in total they have like 150 PR860 portables and getting them to switch to VHF in next to impossible.its a big fire district and they are exploring 6 lowband vehicle repeaters.

I think your problem will be that any split wide enough to allow a duplexer small enough to be practical in a vehicle will exceed the frequency range of the PR860 antenna.

Instead you could kit out two trucks with a LB to VHF or UHF crossband on the same VHF/UHF freq but a suitable LB pair. To use park the trucks a couple of hundred feet apart so that there is enough isolation between the LB receive truck and the LB transmit truck. Alternatively do a battery powered LB RX to VHF/UHF portable kit in like a Pelican case and have it deployed to a good site at the scene remote from the transmit truck.

Here is a nice compact mobile low band duplexer. They only run about $4000 apiece.

Is that price for the 6 can 0533 or the 8 can 0544?
