H14 & Q182 WHAT are they really?

So here is my very simple question I hope. I am not too sure for an XTS3000 what the two features "H14 Enhanced Digital ID Display" & "Q182 Enhanced Radio Control Protocol" actually are for/do. Any thoughts. I know what the ID display does but not sure what's "Enhanced" about it or the "Radio Control Protocol". Any ideas? I'd love to know.

H14 - Enhanced Digital ID Display

Enables reverse aliasing of any Call List Text that exists (or for Caller IDs to appear if no Call List Text exists) within the radio’s display.

The appearing Call List Text or ID is meant to identify the sender of the transmission.

Q182 - Radio Control Protocol Also known as "Enhanced RCP"

Enables support for a set of proprietary Motorola Project 25 Data Communications Services RCP commands and functionality which allow for reporting of:

•Radio Power Up
•Radio Not Registered
•Data Service Availability
•RF Ack Received
•Encryption Failure / Status

An XTS3000 does not allow ID aliasing. It will simply decode the unit unit.

Ah okay, thanks for the clarification.

I got the above information from ASTRO 25 help screens.
