Hello everyone, thanks for reading..
I am currently replacing a rather aged AstroTAC votor with a Digitac in our fire paging system. The main job is to allow the console audio to take priority over radio traffic. This seems easy, BUT..
If the console takes over from an input line there is new key-up tone sent, and then another when the console de-keys and the input takes back over.
Is there a way to eliminate this? It doesn't happen with the AstroTAC unit, and will drive our users nuts if they have to hear that tone every other TX
Thanks

Re: Digitac Priority issue
You need to make sure the audio levels are adjusted properly. What kind of base stations are involved?
Additionally, make sure the DIGITAC is using a clean template in it. You should be able to log on to both the transmit and receive sides of the DIGITAC and load a factory default codeplug for whatever configuration you're using (conventional/trunked, clear/coded).
After properly adjusting audio levels into and out of the DIGITAC, the keying tones should notch properly. The level adjustments are extremely critical.
ASTROTAC was release *AFTER* DIGITAC. Replacing an ASTROTAC with a DIGITAC doesn't make any sense to me.
PM me if you want to sell the ASTROTAC on the cheap.
