Zetron 4000 Series Prog Cable

Post by kf8yk »

Anyone have the pinout for a Zetron channel monitor programming cable p/n 709-7452?

This is a RS232 serial cable that plugs into the 5 pin monitor port of a Universal Dual Channel Card in the 4000 series common control rack.

Thanks.

I want to say it is a standard serial cable. But your best bet is to call Zerton and get the answer right from the horses mouth.

I think he is looking for the cable that plugs into the pins on the front of the 2 channel cards, I have 1 in the shop that I made using the pinout in the Zetron manual then I found the one that shiped with the system.

I will not be back in the shop till Tuesday and will look at what I have unless someone answers sooner
Cause Motorola said so that's why

Sorry for the delay

cable from the Zetron chanel card Monitor port is as follows

Starting from the top (call it pin 1)
Zetron Pin 1 not connected
Zetron Pin 2 not connected
Zetron Pin 3 to db-9 Pin 2 (rx data)
Zetron Pin 4 to db-9 Pin 3 (tx data)
Zetron Pin 5 to db-9 Pin 5 (sig gnd)
Pin 5 being the bottom pin

Using Hyperterm at 19200 8 - N - 1 pressing the reset button on the chanel card should get you a listing of the cards data
Cause Motorola said so that's why
