This is strange, I'm trying to program 3 Motorola Saber 2 radios for someone and every time I attempt to read the code plug the RSS tells me that I have a unrecognizable Core or a serial bus problem..Never had this problem before. I'm using V5 of RSS.
The serial tag is in Green print and has:
Doc Type: SAKUA
Also the top plate has no numbers for channels...
I can't even write a new code plug to the radios as I'm told it doesn't match the radios personality...
Anyone have any suggestions???

Re: Saber 2 - RSS ERROR???
Sounds like some Aussie police radios that needed special RSS.. Someone here had some insight about what was needed to get these up and running

Or the radios were programmed with a newer version of RSS (or both).FireCpt809 wrote:Sounds like some Aussie police radios that needed special RSS.. Someone here had some insight about what was needed to get these up and running

I tried V7 and sill nothing...
I believe V7 was the last version offered by Motorola for sale/lease, or I've missed out on something lol

Re: Saber 2 - RSS ERROR???
You may have a recased Euro version of the Saber, the 3000, and that RSS is different from the US version.
Take off the front shield and note the board number if possible, that should also indicate the model type, from model I, II or III.
Did this come from Ebay by chance?

I sent the radios back to the person, I have no source for foreign Motorola software and would rather not risk downloading and running a bootleg copy...You know...Don't drop the soap
Yes, the radios were from eBay...how the hell a Euro or Australian version made it to America I'm not sure...Maybe someone dumped a load of these on the American surplus market??
