XTS2500 external mic issue

Hello all.
Just picked up an xts2500 UHF.
Works great from the internal mic.
I use some external accessories which I've had for years for the gp300 series by using an audio adapter. ( speaker mic and surveillance kit). Issue I'm having is the tx audio from the accessory mic is delayed in starting. Ie. I start pressing ptt button, radio is keyed up immediately, but won't pass audio for 2-3 seconds. Help!!!!!!
