Astro Spectra VHF out of band

I have a Astro Spectra VHF 110 Watt, Bandsplit 146 to 174MHz. My question is, how can I send Digital under 146MHz (down to 144MHz), Analog is no Problem but Digital. What and how can I change this?

Depending on which software you have, it's a matter of using a HEX editor to play with the files.

I can't stress this enough, MAKE BACK UP COPIES OF EVERYTHING YOU DO.

Mother M takes a dim view of it when you ask for a replacement copy because you broke your original trying to do something you're not supposed to.

Is it that it won't program or is it that it won't work? I have a 146-174 Astro Spectra that programmed the 145 ham freqs with no problem, but I had to tweak the deviation a little bit so the P25 worked properly.

I know that the frequency ranges are in the software. I'm NOT positive that the VHF ranges don't go down below 146. So that may not be an issue.
I do know that on the UHF Astro Spectras I own, The software had to be modified to program below 450 MHz.

The VCO may not go all the way down and may need adjustment. On my UHF models, the deviation was a bit low when I dropped down below 450 MHz. There wasn't any P25 systems down there to test it with.

I use my Astro Spectra that is 146-174 all the way down in the 138 range without issue.

However, I have not been able to transmit the proper NAC much below 142 - you need to tune the radio some how and that is something I have no idea how to do or how to explain.

As everyone else has said, be careful. Make a backup copy of the .exe before you edit it in a HEX Editor, and also make backups of your codeplug. If not...you MAY have a bad time. If you do everything right and don't push your luck, you will skate on by without issue!
