Have an astro spectra w7 that the power button will not turn it on or off. As soon as you give it power it turns on. HOWEVER swapped the control head out with another and button works as it should. Did they jump something in the head to bypass the button? Anybody ever see this before?

There are jumpers in the control head that change the way the radio powers up. Never paid any attention to them to see if it would effect the way it powers down.

I would go look in the service manual for these jumpers in the control head. I believe there is a table there that shows the jumpers and how they effect the operation of power up.
