Motorola R2001D Eproms

Hello to the Batboard, kinda new here...different story for different time.
Anyhow, I have a R2001D that I acquired rather cheaply and to my dismay all the the EPROMS on the A10 board and the A14 board are missing. I swapped two boards from another R001D that came with this one (package deal, BOGO), and it works for the most part, but the boards are older (A14 has connector for printer). Any idea where one might find these rascals? Motorola have them, didn't see a part number in the service manual. I wouldn't concern myself too much, but this thing is CLEAN! The display is crisp and bright. But a bit banged up on the other end (2 feet broke, minor denting of case). It would be nice to try to put it back together.
Any help is appreciated.

I just realized I put this post in the wrong place...If an Admin or Mod would be as to so kind to move it to the proper place, that would be great.

The A10 ROM should be the same ..there was only one version of that board so you should just be able to copy the ROM on the good one.
What version processor board do you need the firmware for ? The older version or the newer one which had the 5 pin DIN connector on the side of the unit. The new processor board also had the additional connector used for the DIN connector.
I may have the firmware backed up for the old version but not sure I ever got around to doing it on the later vintage.

Cool.
I will have to look at the board when I get home. This has the connector for the din. I will snap some pictures later after I have fun with the dentist.

well the picture upload didn't work but based on your description it sounds like a later processor which I do not have the firmware for ( one fo those things I never go around to )
Looks like there is a guy on ebay selling a couple of these from scrapped units and will take an offer ...let me kno if you need the link.
You can also try over on the P25.ca board and see if someone over there has the firmware backed that the could post on the later version processor

That is definitely the "newer" style board with the printer output. The firmware ROMs are the three at the bottom of the board. The missing IC below the printer socket is going to be harder to find.
NOTE: The print routine was written to the old RX80 series of Epson nine pin dot matrix printers. Some inkjets & some laser printers worked, but not all of them.

Thanks jry, I looked them over and I am stewing it over. This would resolve 3/4 of my current issues, but not so sure to dive in yet. The dates on the EPROMS show 1997. When did Motorola move on from the R2001D? Thanks for your help guys.

I looked at both boards, they are the newer ones. One of them has version 05A firmware, the other one I can't tell. The final version firmware on the D model with this processor was 06A (IIRC).

What EPROM is on the A10 board? Would it be the same as the A10 board in my older non-printer 2001D, or is this different as well? I do not remember if the A10 boards were the same when I had it apart or not...rather not open it back up unless I have to.

The A10 is the same if you have the older processor or the newer one.

Update:
The A14 board arrived yesterday and some 2716 EPROMS (for the A10 board) and the old girl breathes once again. I have not found a reason yet why someone did what they did. Maybe the A14 board was bad from the getgo. Did have some light damage to the the bottom of the case (3 of 4 legs broken, 1 missing).
So in a nutshell, all is well. Thank you to everyone who helped out.
