Converter for MVF files

Post by sjxts3000 »

I have the .MVA and .WAV voice announcement files from APX CPS, but I need to convert them to .MVF format for Astro 25 CPS. Anyone know of a good free converter?

If you already have them in .wav, the Astro25 CPS has to convert them to .MVF for you.

Yes, I do have them in WAV format. But I guess I'm not clear on how that Astro25 CPS (I'm using v18) conversion works. Any known documentation on it?

Edit: Nevermind..I found the writeup in the CPS help. Will give it a whirl.
Thanks!

OK, that worked... was able to convert and import and assign.
One final question, is it not possible to assign button assignment voice announcement? (i.e. direct, scan, etc)

i.e. is the XTS 5000 only capable of "channel" voice announcement and not any other type?

No. The APX is the first radio to support that, hence the change from "channel announcement" to "voice announcement" term.
