HT1250 EEPRM HW Error

I have 2 radios that seemed to work fine until I tried to program them. As soon as the codeplug wrote to the radio, I got a EEPRM HW Error. Since then, I haven't been able to read or write a codeplug to it, nor have I been able to upgrade the firmware to any version. They are old radios with firmware 1 in them. Is there a way to correct this problem without sending it to Motorola. I have the flash adapter from Motorola, so that isn't an issue. I am also connecting it with a rib box and rib cable. I've tried changing the internal battery as well with no go.

The similar sounding EEPRM CS ERROR is cured by a fix in the later CPS versions, perhaps this would be your cure. Search the forums under the error code I've indicated, there were details posted at some point.

CS = checksum error
HW = hardware error
You can generally recover CS errors via CPS or firmware upgrade. Typically, HW errors are exactly that, and recovery involves, well, hardware.
Where yours showed these after a programming attempt, it seems like they corrupted in such a way that it 'thinks' it's a hardware error. Since regular firmware upgrades aren't doing it for you, you can try the 'swap radio' method that was outlined to you in a separate thread. Beyond that, if you search the web for "inofficial Waris Lab" software, it might be able to erase the eeprom & allow recovery.
