I have an HT1550XLS the I got off ebay, the radio works fine and is everything I wanted except one thing, the clock is not working. The display is fine and when I set the time is stays at the time set. Is it the internal battery or should I just forget about the clock. The other functions on that line work fine. The clock is not a big deal but it would be nice to have it working. I have not opened the radio as yet and I do want to unless it is necessary. thanks

yep, dead internal battery.
it's easy to replace and about a $2.50 part. But it does require proper removal of the front cover and disconnecting the flexes to gain access to the little coin cell battery.

It's been a while since I've had one on my bench, but it's a standard type, I just don't recall the P/N.
They were sold in packs of 5 or 10 last I ordered them.

Anyone know the generic number for the battery so I can get one before the "grand openng"? Thanks

Steve, believe they are a rechargeable LiIon button cell, Mot p/n 6088541M01. I don't know if there is a generic replacement. The ones in the Motorola plastic bags that I have are Panasonic VL621 according to the marking on the cells.

I swapped out a known good battery and clock still not working I can set in utility and when I go back to op mode it stays at 12:00 any ideas as to what could be wrong. The clock is not the most important, but if it there it would be nice if it worked. Thaks

anyone got any further ideas. I swapped a known good battery and still the clock stays at 12:00. I can set time in utility mode and when I go back to op mode it says 12:00 and stays there. Thanks
