On an MTS2000 (H01RDD9PW1BN) with firmware R05.11, will I be OK with MTS2000 CPS R02.03.00 ?
(I'm using Win7 64-bit and I have a TruLink USB-to-Serial adapter with a "kawa" RIB-less programming cable)

Officially IIRC the radio F/W had to be 5.4x or greater. I have programmed 5.11's just fine, but using an older XP machine (600MHz Toshiba Portege 7200CT with a real 9pin serial port and OEM RLN4008E RIB and cable).

All but 1 of my MTS radios are newer than 5.41 & program fine with a ribless cable on a Windows XP machine. However my 1 MTS lower than 5.41, but newer than 5.11 must use a real cable & rib, as the ribless cable won't work only on that radio. You have a 64 bit machine, USB to serial adapter, & a ribless cable working against you. GARY

OK, I finally got a hold of an XP system to do this. WinXP 32-bit system with a serial port. Kawa eBay RIB-less cable and an MTS 2000 firmware R05.44. Was able to read/write the radio just fine. RIB not needed in that scenario.
