Can the Saber III Securenet be transplanted to a Saber III that doesn't have it?

Only if the other radio is secure ready. The analog sabers came in two versions, non-secure only, and secure capable. The secure capable is phyically a little longer than the non secure saber. That extra space is where the module would go.

All ASTRO sabers are secure ready.

Thanks much for the info. Does this mean that the Securenet stuff can remain in the VHF Saber III case and just swap the VHF into the Non-Securenet UHF case and then install the UHF radio into the VHF Securenet case with the secure hardware. Would the UHF then have the Securenet ability?

I think you just won a award for the most confusing comment EVER! What are you trying to do again?

Yeah..kinda tested my mind. I believe you misunderstood what he meant by the case size difference. If one of your units is secure,or secure capable then the actual radio(inside guts)is longer, hence the longer case. The securenet is part of the radio and is located at the bottom. You cannot take a regular Saber and put it in the Secure Radio case and vice versa. If you have one of each, pull them out carefully and lay them side by side, and you will understand.... the main board is longer to facilitate securenet modules. Hope this unravels it.
