HT1550 XLS display

I just purchased an HT1550XLS VHF at a real good price. When I turn the radio on the display is fine but when I press the P buttons the display dims out, the battery is fully charged and I have changed batteries. Any ideas? Hopefully it is something simple.

I fixed it, got brave opened up and reseated flex cables. Must have loosened up in shipping. Fedx must have played football with the package, hope they played better than our Bills, hahaha
